Wagyu Breeding Guide

The Wagyu Breeding Guide is a result of three years’ solid work through the Wagyu Collaborative Genetics Research Project to collect carcase data and analyse it’s genetic potential. The result is a suit of carcase EBVs capable of predicting the genetic merit of a wide range of Wagyu sires and dams and a Fullblood Terminal Index ranking animals for a combination of carcase weight and marble score.

The Wagyu Breeding Guide is a unique milestone for the Wagyu breed both in Australia and internationally. It has been achieved through a funding partnership with Meat & Livestock Australia and the excellent scientific support provided by our technical specialists at AGBU and ABRI. We are extremely appreciative of their encouragement, support and expertise.
