The RNA Beef Committee would like to inform you about some important changes to the 2019/20 RNA Paddock to Palate Wagyu Challenge presented by JBS.
Mort & Co has chosen not to continue their involvement or renew their sponsorship from 2020, which means the cattle entered in the 2019/20 Wagyu Challenge won’t go to the Grassdale Feedlot near Dalby.
We have secured Smithfield Cattle Co as a competition supporter, so your cattle will go to their Sapphire Feedlot at Yelarbon near Goondiwindi for the weight gain phase of the competition.
Feedlot Fees and Charges
The fees and charges for Smithfield’s Sapphire Feedlot are outlined below.
The induction fee, finance fee and feed costs are slightly less than the 2018/19 Wagyu Challenge and there is a new charge for bedding.
Please note, the competition presenting partner JBS will cover the cost of transporting your cattle from the feedlot to the processing plant.
If you have any questions regarding the feedlot, please feel free to contact Ryan Brown from Smithfield Cattle Co on 0400 019 863 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Vaccination – New
All cattle entered in the 2019/20 Wagyu Challenge will receive the Bovi-Shield MH-One vaccine at the feedlot, to help prevent Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD).
This is at no extra cost to you, thanks to competition supporter Zoetis.
Entries Closing Date
Due to the above changes you have an extra week to get your entries in for the 2019/20 Wagyu Challenge, with entries extended until Friday 26 April.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Marricka Clancy, Competition and Events Coordinator, .
