WagyuEdge: Building Integrity 2019 AWA Conference and Tour

To be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, 8-10 May 2019, it brings together a host of well-regarded speakers, local and international members and affiliated businesses to build on the integrity of the Wagyu breed, genetics, brands and reputation. The breadth of presentations covers tools for breeding, feedlot know-how, maximising the production systems and, in acknowledgement of the Association’s 30-year history we hear from industry leaders of their experiences from the early days to now.

To cap off the event, the Welcome Dinner, Gala Dinner and Elite Wagyu Sale represent opportunities to network with peers and industry, be part of the Branded Beef Competition winner announcement and potentially secure the highest level of Wagyu genetics.

The conference tour (11-12 May 2019) will visit Wagyu properties in South Australia and Victoria giving delegates an opportunity to see the unique production systems that operate in temperate climates. Mayura Station, (South Australia) and Sher Wagyu (Victoria) both operate fullblood vertically integrated systems and brands that have both had award-winning recognition in Australia and abroad.

Full conference package

The full conference package includes:

  • a 3-day conference pass (8 – 10 May) starting Wednesday continuing all day Thursday and Friday
  • Conference catering each day (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided)
  • Welcome Function Dinner – Wednesday 8 May
  • Gala Conference Dinner – Thursday 9 May
  • Conference satchel, event program and information

Member registration – $880
Non-member registration – $990

Group discount

A $110 discount applies if you register three or more delegates from the same organisation

Group registration discount (applies to all members of the group) – $770 per delegate

Please note: the group rate applies right up until the conference and does not increase after early bird close.

Day registration

Day registrations will be accepted for either the Wednesday, Thursday or Friday of the conference. This charge does not include evening functions however these may be purchased at the nominated rates.

Day registration includes:

  • Conference sessions on the selected day
  • Conference catering on selected day (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea)
  • Conference satchel and event program and information

Member registration – $400/day
Non member registration – $475/day

Welcome Function Dinner
Wednesday 8 May 2019, 6.30pm to 10pm to be held at the Adelaide Oval.

The function includes a BBQ dinner and drinks (is considered to be a casual stand up dinner). Dress for the Welcome Function is smart casual.

One Welcome Function dinner ticket is included in a full conference registration. Additional tickets may be purchased for accompanying guests:

Members – $120/person
Non-members – $170/person

Conference Gala Dinner
Thursday 9 May 2019, 7.30pm – 11.30pm to be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre

The dinner includes a three-course dinner, drinks and entertainment. Dress for the Conference Dinner is semi-formal.

One Conference Gala Dinner ticket is included in a full conference registration. Additional tickets may be purchased for accompanying guests:

Non-members – $220/person

Post Conference Tour Pricing

The tour price includes coach transport for the 2-days, overnight accommodation in Mount Gambier region on Saturday night, breakfast Sunday, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea each day and dinner and drinks on Saturday night.

The tour will conclude at Tullamarine Airport Melbourne on Sunday evening at approximately 6pm. You must arrange your own travel and or accommodation on Sunday evening.

Airport transfers via bus (SkyBus) run from Tullamarine to Melbourne CBD for $18.75 per adult. Fixed price fares can be pre-booked online. Journey time is approximately 30 to 45 minutes. View SkyBus Timetable or Buy tickets.

Cancellation Policy

A full refund, less a $150 cancellation fee, will be made on any cancellations received by Monday 1 April 2019. No refunds will be issued for any registration cancellations made after April 1, although substitutions of delegates will be accepted. All cancellations must be made in writing to the conference coordinator.


Every effort is made to ensure that the contents of this registration brochure are correct. The organisers retain the right to make changes where necessary. The Australian Wagyu Association and the conference coordinators, Countrywide Conference and Event Management, will not accept liability for any damages of any nature sustained by participants or their accompanying persons or loss or damage to their personal property for the duration of the conference and tour.

Condition of Entry

It is a condition of entry that no delegate may disrupt the order of events or intent of the program. Anyone considered to be disturbing the program intent will be asked to leave. Only pamphlets and brochures approved by the event organisers may be distributed.
