Membership Identifiers
Unique Member Identification (Member ID)
Your Member ID is a unique three-character identifier used to locate your membership details and should be quoted in all correspondence with the Member Services Officer (MSO) team.
This Member ID is also used to identify the breeder of registered animals in the database. It forms the first part of each animal’s Association ID and remains associated with the animal, even if ownership changes.
During the membership application process, you may nominate two preferred Member IDs in case your first choice is already allocated to another member. Your Member ID may contain alpha-numerical characters excluding the numbers 0 and 1.
Please choose your Member ID carefully, as it cannot be changed once it has been assigned.
Herd Prefix
Your Herd Prefix is a unique name associated with your herd and is used to identify you as the breeder of animals recorded in the AWA database.
Herd Prefixes may contain up to 20 alphanumeric characters, including spaces. They cannot contain the names of major geographical areas such as countries, states, or major cities.
The Herd Prefix appears at the beginning of every animal name recorded under your membership, followed by the animal’s individual name.
As many members recognise and identify breeders by their Herd Prefix when researching or purchasing animals, it is important to choose your Herd Prefix carefully. Once assigned, a Herd Prefix cannot be changed.
